Case Supervisor
Voices for Children Montgomery is recruiting a full-time (40 hours/week) Case Supervisor to train and supervise the work of Court Appointed Special Advocates, who are volunteers who are appointed as “friends of the court” to advocate for the best interest of children who have been abused and neglected children and are living in foster care. Applicants should have a strong background in working with children, teenagers who are transitioning to adulthood, children and young adults with special needs, and/or strengthening families experiencing trauma or disruption.
Incumbent will assist in the screening and training of potential volunteers and will support the volunteers day-to-day work, including collaboration with the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services, the Juvenile Courts, Legal Aid and community resource providers.
A bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, or a related field is required. Two or more years experience in a child welfare-related field will be given preference. Previous experience in case management, youth development, and volunteer coordination, supervision or training is desired. Incumbent will be a motivated self-starter who desires to be part of a dynamic, growing organization and wishes to contribute to its success.
Position requires prior child welfare experience, case management, writing and editing skills, organizational skills, ability to multi-task and respond to competing priorities, and the ability to work flexible hours.
Voices for Children Montgomery is a volunteer-based organization that partners with the juvenile court to improve the lives of children living in foster care who have suffered abuse and/or neglect. VFCM trains and supervises volunteers from the community who advocate for the best interest of children, recognizing and respecting each child’s individual needs. By providing a voice to children in the foster care system, it is our goal to promote the timely placement of those we serve in safe, permanent homes and to ensure the children are receiving high quality services while in care.
This is a full-time, salaried position. Salary range is $50,000-51,500.
