Voices for Children Montgomery is delighted to be working with Ruby for Good to provide software to our Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) volunteers that will allow them to more easily and accurately track the work they do on their cases. Ruby for Good is an all-volunteer technology organization delivering specialized software and development solutions for nonprofit organizations. Ruby for Good created the CASA Volunteer Tracking application that adheres to the specific needs of the organization. Instead of physical paper logs and manual data entry, volunteers are able to ditch paper, compiling all information into one central location.
Voices for Children Montgomery is a nonprofit organization that advocates for children in foster care in Montgomery County, Maryland. Their mission is accomplished through the assignment of community volunteers to work one-on-one with children in foster care. Volunteers are appointed by juvenile court judges to serve as CASAs for these children, serving as voices for abused and neglected children. When assigned to a child, volunteers need to track all contacts made, create notes, and write court reports. With the CASA Volunteer Tracking app, their work can be cited in one central location. The staff recently had the opportunity to attend a training session. They learned about the different features the application offers and are excited to be able to give feedback, follow up, and send reminders to their volunteers through this software.
“We are delighted to be able to provide this convenient and user-friendly way for our CASAs to track the critical information they gather as they advocate for their assigned children,” says Francha Davis, Voices for Children Montgomery Executive Director.
