Advocating for Youth with Immigration Challenges

Allison Rothschild will give an overview of immigration challenges facing youth who travel to the US with family or by themselves, as well as how CASAs can support and advocate for their youth going through the immigration process.

How Trauma Affects Attachment, and the Lourie Center

Speaker: Julia Wessel, Licensed Clinical Social Worker; Assistant Director, Parent Child-Clinical Services; Director, Child Placement Consultation Team

Many of our CASA children/youth experience trauma that affects their ability to attach and form healthy relationships. Julia Wessel will talk about how trauma can affect attachment and how staff at the Lourie Center work with children to help resolve their trauma and its effects on behavior and relationships.
